The objective of Blackjack is get as close to 21 points as possible without going over ("bust").
To place your bet at our Royale Blackjack table you first need to select the amount of chips you are going to use for your bet $1 minimum $100 maximum for entry level customers. The casino chips are on the right hand side of your screen with denominations of $1, $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100. After you have selected the amount of chips you want to bet, click on the blackjack table right exactly where it says, "Click to place bets" If you accidentally selected an amount of chips you did not want, all you have to do is click on "Clear Bet" on the lower part of your blackjack table. To deal your first hand you need to click on the "Deal" button on the lower part of your screen and your cards will be dealt.
The value of each card is the same as its face value.
A "5" = 5 points, a "10" = 10 points, etc.
Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10 points.
An Ace is worth either 1 or 11 points, whichever gives your hand the highest total without going over 21.
The goal in Blackjack is to hold the hand that is closest in total to 21 without "going bust" (exceeding 21). If either you or the dealer is dealt a total of 21 in the first two cards, the hand is a called a "Blackjack" and it beats any hand except another Blackjack. If you are dealt a Blackjack and the dealer does not also have a Blackjack, you automatically win $3 for every $2 that you bet.
On all other hands, if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand, you win your bet on that hand. If your hand is the same total as the dealer's hand that is called a "Push" and you get your bet back. If the dealer's hand is higher than your had, you lose your bet on that hand. If the dealer goes bust (exceeds 21), you win your bet on that hand.
To begin play, place your bet on the blackjack table and then click on the "Deal" button. Two cards are dealt to you (the player) and two are dealt to the dealer.
The first dealer card is face down. Unless your hand is a Blackjack, you now must decide whether to "HIT" (draw another card) with the goal of bringing your score closer to 21, or "STAND" if you think that hitting will not improve your hand. In some cases, you also will be allowed to Split, Double Down, or take Insurance.
If you are dealt two cards of the same rank, you may lay down your original bet again and split the hand into two hands. The blackjack dealer hits each hand immediately, then you play each as a separate hand. You may split up to a maximum of four hands. If you split aces, you may not take additional hits.
After the first two cards have been dealt, you have the option of doubling your original bet and taking one, and only one, hit.
If the blackjack dealer is showing an ace, you may buy insurance against a dealer blackjack. Insurance costs half your original bet. If the dealer has blackjack, the insurance bet pays 2-1, offsetting the loss (usually) of your original bet. You will see a message asking if you wish to do this or not.
The blackjack dealer is not allowed to make any playing decisions. The dealer must hit 16 or less and stand on 17 or better.
